We’re talking about the Mezcal Paloma, a smoky and citrusy concoction that’s sure to tickle your taste buds. But why mezcal, you ask? Well, it’s simple. Unlike its cousin tequila, mezcal brings a smokier, creamier flavor to the table that just pairs so well with the grapefruit and lime in this cocktail. So, let’s get started, shall we?

Key Ingredients
The star of our show today is mezcal. We’re using our very own TSG private label mezcal, a product we’ve worked hard to perfect for you. It’s creamy, flavorful, and smooth, making it versatile enough to enjoy neat, with a lime, or in a cocktail like our Mezcal Paloma.
Another key ingredient is fresh grapefruit juice. It adds a refreshing tang that complements the smokiness of the mezcal beautifully.
How to Make
First things first, we’re going to prep our glass. I’ve already rimmed mine with a mix of sea salt and chipotle peppers for a bit of heat, but feel free to use just salt or sugar if you prefer. Once your glass is ready, it’s time to measure out our mezcal. We’re using 2 ounces here, but feel free to adjust to your liking.
Next, we’ll add half an ounce of fresh lime juice and a touch of honey simple syrup. I’m not big on sweet cocktails, so I’m keeping it light. To make the honey simple syrup, just combine equal parts honey and water on the stove. No sugar involved!
Now, let’s top it off with some fresh grapefruit juice. I’ve got about 2 ounces in here, but anywhere between 1.5 to 2 ounces will do. Cover it up and shake it like a Polaroid picture!
Tips and Tricks
Unlike other cocktails, we’re leaving the ice in this one. It’s the perfect serving size for two people. Just pour it almost to the brim, leaving a little room for some sparkling water to top it off. Don’t forget to garnish with a grapefruit wedge for that extra zing!
Recommended Equipment
A cocktail shaker is your best friend here. If you don’t have one, a mason jar with a lid will do in a pinch. And of course, you’ll need a glass to serve it in. I prefer a highball glass, but any glass will do.
